CBD model updates

just took a couple of quick pix today of the city model.
the CBD core really is jamed packed.

This area in the south is incredibly dense. no less then 20 skyscrapers in that pocket alone.
The 2 bldgs uc (red) in this pic is 150m ASPECT and 90m MOSAIC.
They have virtually no impact even though they are quite tall.

What are the two grey ones in the upper right of the second pic, Cul? I guess the smaller one is Alberta Street, but the big one looks like it's where the Federal Police live.

The existing Federal Police building doesn't look that old - are they extending it or knocking it down?

Too much white colour on the model still lol....John Boyd, Mid City Centre, Stockland's Park View, Hellenic Ctre tower, resid towers against Maestri walls (any chance this one gets approved soon?), Park Central and proposed tower against eastern Aspect wall (early days??)..And the gray on 720 George may be white again some day? (Maroun = no action ever)...Thank God for the Meriton & Regent Place!!

lol, go the grey!
well with JBoyd and Mid shity centre, they have both been grey recently. its all the DA process. JBoyd is white beacuse its a totally new DA as a mixed use. should be approved very soon. Mid shity centre will also be approved soon. both will commence 2006.
Stocklands Parkviews turning torso DA will be in before xmas and will start 2006.
I think twins on kent st next to maestri have problems? developers are churning out a new design.
park central has also recieved many approvals, but this is a new DA and will soon get approval with construction to start 2006.
Not sure about big one next to Aspect? dont like its chances.
And as for the 720 george st, i spoke to mr maroun himself a few months back and he wants to start office component and sales office before xmas. maybe he is cauutious about current markets (which are shit atm). its a waiting game.
cheers

It looks great but if we could just get a couple of 400m towers and a nice 'little' 450m tower around the middle there it would look Real Pretty.
Dream on...

do you have a profile view to show the spine of supertalls. I was watching the buildings from croyden on the weekend. Will the new buildings proposed/uc fill the gaps from MLC to World Towers.

i could take a pic next week.
there are a few proposals in cbd centre but most have height restrictions of 150m.
there are some sites which can up to 200m, ie jboyd.

^thanks, well in Sydney we seem to like the subterrainian construction. Its a big part of the overall tower, if 10 levels are below ground.sometimes the tower is started but doesnt show above ground until 6 months into construction. (remember Meriton tower).
so this will give you a better understanding of its progress.
cheers
