Also The Peak doesn't light up its crown anymore. I found out that the building manager decided not to due to Earth Hour's influence.

1 O'Connell's cone isn't lit all through the night till morning these days either. It turns on for about 4-5 hours only now.

For those that are interested, Symantec are erecting new signage on the smaller tower in Maritime Trade centre. Veritas used to have rights to that tower. Signs are going up on the north east corner (visible as you drive into the city over the Harbour Bridge) as I type...

1 O'Connell never turns on now, neither Channel 7's ticker nor DB's goalposts.

"Citi" is now ablaze on 2 Park St.

So did they re-do the sign for Citi or just leave "group" switched off?

Not its redone from the east. The north facing sign though just had the lights turned off, as it has no red arch linking the i's.

All week, Innovation Place in North Sydney has had it's vertical fin illuminated white and the edge of it pinstriped with blue neon.

Very nice.

Gazmo that would look hot, I can't wait to see it.

Sydney needs more signage like Hong Kong, nice and futuristic.

Yeah it looks good. Reminded me of Dallas and HK too. The entire building's shape is lit up and it really stands out in the Skyline of Nth Sydney.

Well, something is happening atop. Today green mesh was sprawled across the signage space.

Deutsche Bank's spires floodlit again in the evenings.

Unfortunately Channel 7's tickers on Martin Place look like they won't be switched on again. Apparently some council nonsense that with people walking underneath them in passing by, if something goes wrong, there are safety issues. Some malarky like that. Gosh, that means every bit of electrical signage overhead may fall down and dong you on the noggin hence you will be electrocuted

Been noticing though the increased usage of these digital signs especially for stores, pizza joints and restaurants. They're everywhere!! Took this in Chinatown. The one with the pink characters and the one under "To Darling Harbour":

Oh! Forgot to say, iconic Optus signage was being taken removed from the old 101 Miller Street HQ on saturday. All that was left when I was there in the afternoon was the TU. I tried to get a picture, but would've had to walk right onto the bridge to get a good vantage.

Hyundai signage is completely gone too.

(gulp 1000th post!)

I'm not sure if it's been noted before, but Lumiere's vertical strip lighting on the penthouse blades were on last night - certainly the first time I've noticed them (but I've been interstate and wouldn't have known if they have been before now).

The lights are white fluoro, the effect is subtle but strikingly different on the night-time skyline.

Huh Cul? It's been like that for 6 months or so now. The company branded themselves to Citi back in Jan of 2007.
