Comapny which bid with Patanjali too gets land

The Maharashtra Airport Development Company's (MADC) board of directors cleared the proposal to allot 50 acres of land to the Aurangabad-based pharmaceutical unit in Mihan's special economic zone (SEZ).

The company plans to invest around Rs 500 crore in the Nagpur project. This will be the second pharmaceutical company to come up in Mihan after Lupin, which already has plans to expand in Nagpur.

The MADC board has also cleared a proposal to build a commercial complex in the Mihan area. This will be built in an area of 2.5 acres by MADC with area to be rented out for shops.

"This is being done considering the needs of 50-odd residents of the flats which have come up in the non-SEZ area of Mihan," said a source in the MADC.

The plan evolved from understanding the carrying capacity of the site; a capacity determined by functions like energy, water, geology of the land, along with essential rules of urban design pertaining to light, ventilation and shading. Based on this emerged a master-plan for a working population of 20,000; a project which is net zero on Energy, Water and Waste Discharge.
Infy's proposed MIHAN campus looks pretty good!

Reliance assures to pay Mihan Rs 38 crore land dues by March

Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) company, Reliance Aerostructure has assured Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), to pay Rs38 crore pending towards allotment of land in the Mihan-SEZ, by March. The money is due since last year.

The company had announced its plans for the Mihan-SEZ in November 2015, but had remained a non-starter since then. The total cost of the land comes to Rs63 crore. So far MADC has got only Rs25 crore, with Rs38 crore pending. Reliance had missed the deadline to pay an instalment of Rs17 crore in mid 2016.

Sources say the company officials in a recent meeting had assured to clear the dues by March. Only after Reliance Aerostructure pays the entire amount, MADC will sign lease agreement for the land. At present the company only has an allotment letter in hand.

In November 2015, Anil Ambani had made announcements to come up with a complex making aircraft spares and related items with an investment of Rs6,500 crore. It was allotted 289 acres of land in the SEZ, but the company soon cut the requirement to 104 acres, for which the money is due.

However, the situation changed after India inked a deal to buy 36 Rafale aircraft with France's Dassault Aviation. Reliance has entered into a joint venture with the French company to execute the offset agreement arising out of the deal. A major chunk of the work under the arrangement is expected to be carried out at Mihan said sources.

Last week Reliance secured an approval from competition commission of India (CCI), for the joint venture. CCI is a body responsible to curb monopolistic situations in the market,
Reliance had also insisted that MADC should first start building a taxiway connecting the existing runway with its unit the Mihan. However, MADC on the other hand wants Reliance to reach at least half way on the project.

Reliance will now have to pay the amount even before MADC goes ahead with the taxiway, said sources. However the MADC is still likely to start constructing a taxiway, ending just before Reliance's site. This would be for Indamer Aviation which has plans to start a maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO), in an area of 29 acres. It has made the payments for the first phase with the second instalment expected in this month. If Indamer clears dues, MADC may start building a taxiway in its campus, said sources.

Infosys

This is safed jhoot in typical nagpuri style, which we all have deep entrenched in us, I had visited the site in December, and what I saw was only compound wall being constructed. I can bet on this. Unless a tower was built in 1.5 months !!!!

was in Hingna/Wadi MIDC, all factories are closing down and converting into car/automobile showrooms, quite sad. Very dusty, no well kept facades, no factory names too, qiute a contrast from even Nashik MIDC, which looked quite impressive, atleast 2 years ago.

Infosys Nagpur operations already started....

Infosys news is 1000% correct. One of my friend who is at higher post said that he also started receiving resume of freshers who have been trained at Nagpur DC. I am not exactly sure about the location since their own building is not ready. But since people have already received training in Infosys Nagpur that means we Infosys is very eager to expand in Nagpur...

Reliance Defence eyes Rs 300 billion offset from Dassault deal

With a new joint venture announced with French aerospace giant Dassault Aviation, Anil Ambani's Reliance Group is set to get a big slice of the Rafale fighter jet deal and will target business worth Rs 20,000 crore as part of the offsets for the contract.

Last year, French major Dassault and Reliance Aerospace had announced the formation of Dassault Reliance Aerospace. Their plan is to set up a facility spread over 100 acres in Nagpur, with the JV looking at creating a complete supply chain for the Rafale fighter jet in India.

The company said this in an analyst meet on Monday. Here are some major take aways from the Mondays analyst meet.

The management wants to look at defence as the next new growth area, the company will be eyeing on opportunities under Army and Air Force under the 15 subsidiaries and 3 joint ventures with foreign OEMs and explore the Navy orders under the newly acquired Defence Research and Engineering Ltd (previously Pipavav Defence).

Overall the medium to long term domestic defence opportunity is pegged at Rs 15.4 tn. Having spent the previous two years in building capabilities and technology tie-up, the management believes the tender to ordering cycle will commence in FY18 onwards.

Current order book is at Rs 57 bn to be executed by FY21.

Company has roped in veterans from industries under Army, Air Force, and Navy divisions, they are having wide experience having worked in defence PSUs previously.

The incumbent government's policy stance favouring private sector participation along with the focus towards import substitution are enabling factors for growth.
The recently acquired Pipavav Shipyard having the largest dry dock with state of the art heavy engineeringBSE 1.09 % infra will be a key differentiating factor versus other private and domestic sector peers. Hence the company is confident to bag the aircraft carrier order and is well placed for the 12 nos submarine (project 75I) orders.

They are also considering to build another shipyard in the east coast at "Rambilli" in Andhra Pradesh.

Near Nagpur, at Mihan, the company has built up a huge aerospace complex having own airport and airspace for fighter aircraft testing.

Overall, the defence opportunity and the plans of the company is huge, the major thing is the execution, margins and the order booking which is fraught with delays.
