Agree.. can’t believe how prominent the monorail was, so glad it’s gone.. George st is way classier now and am actually glad for all those concrete box bollards cos you can actually sit all down the street and just chill and have a coffee etc..

Yep... I had a lot of missgivings about the changes to George Street as I feared removing traffic would remove the busy big city vibe of the street. However, the changes seem to have brought more pedestrian traffic.

What do people think is the best building to go up in the last decade? One Central Park would get my vote.

My Personal Favourites in the order I like:
1. One Bligh and EY Centre (tied)
2. ANZ Tower (161 Castlereagh Street)
3. One Central
4. 60 Martin Place
5. York and George
6. International Towers
7. 20 Martin Place
8. Hyatt Regency
9. Barrack Place and Arc by Crown (Tied)
10. UTS Central and Dr Chau Chak Wing Building (Tied)
11. One30 Hyde


Least Favourite:
1) Three mediocre towers at Darling Square.


Three Brand New Neighbourhoods/Precincts:
1) Barangaroo
2) Central Park
3) Darling Square

2 Urban Renewals:
1) George Street Pedestrianized
2) Darling Harbour


Transport:
1) Opal Ticketing System and it's integration on all modes of transport
2) Metro North West Line
3) Light Rail
4) WestConnex: M4 Western Motorway Widening and M4 East
5) Removal of Monorail

RIP nightlife! If I had known it was going to go down the gurgler back then, I would have gone out more. At least there's only 8 days of lockouts left !

Welp unlicensed business can open 24 hrs under new Sydney LEP - seems like none are taking up the opportunity tho - I think alcohol is essential at night - at least as an option. eg. Strike Bowling. If there were so many people wanting an alcohol free night out - surely this would be a larger amount of businesses catering to this market?
