I passed my first physical examination in school on this stadium, kind of sad seeing it demolished... but it's all for the better

Actually what happens to stadium in Kyiv? I got a lot of informations Ukraine has problems concerning financial crisis and political aspects and some investments on the way of EURO 2012 perhaps will get stopped. So, could somebody tell me how today's situation in this country can interact on preparing the tournament?

In Kiev the reconstruction of the stadium is going according to plan, GMP already expressed the conception of new stadium, at present a demolition of the old object lasts. Structure new is supposed to move in December. Remaining investments are also doing well, construction will start in 2009r. They stopped only however FFU provides with the majority of hotel investments, that they will manage with this problem.
Euro 2012 will take place the way they were planning, that is in Poland and in the Ukraine.

They're not going to disassemble it.

They disassemble the first tier, but not the second? People are going to be concerned about the condition of the second tier during the stadium's reconstruction.

Look at the plans of the stadiums,it's the exact same tier, and I'd say it's in rahter good condition and just needs a refurbishment.
The first tier was built on a ground wave, that's it,it clerely needed to pe desassembled, and replaced with a "modern" base model.

I am interesting with which miraculously will build the right part without disassembly of the second tier. They must dismantle at least partly, and then they will build the new podium. A rest of the stadium is most probably the new first level, building functional rooms on under the second tier, the structure of the roof and the elevation.

i think they might just change the seating of the second tier, so the seats will be the same as on the first tier.

p.s- The construction of the roof and stuff will begin in December, but in Kiev its snowing right now so it wont be easy.

About the look of Olimpitskyi i have no idea... There were like 10 proposals so far... All i can say it will be 5-star (UEFA requirement for a final Venue) will have 75-85k, with a new roof, unfortunately the running tracks will still be present.
Its actually good to keep the tracks, after all, it will show atleast show the tourists how the stadium looked like (about) almost 50 years ago. I hope the olympic stadium will get a 5 star rating, that means there will be 2 stadiums in Ukraine that have a 5 star rating

So what is the final design of the stadium? I saw that a asian company failed because they didn't have enough time.
Now what are they going to do? Remodel the first tier and add a roof?

I know the visibility on the first tier is quite horrible, I remember seeing the Kiev-Steaua game and even though the stadium was like full on the cameras it looked totally empty because the first rows were not used at all. The advantage face to other communist built stadium is that the 2nd tier added later was more steep ( face to Moscow's Luzhniki ) but still the view from the back of the posts must be fairly impossible.
As long as Arsenal and Dynamo will build they're own football stadiums there's no problem with keeping the athletics track even though it would have ideal to get rid of it and Dynamo and/or Arsenal could have played they're games over here with no fear people won't come because of the visibility.

LOL, the players must look like some pixels from over there I would need a military binocular to see the game .
