I think we can say this story is coming up to the end. We must look at the next adventure (Bursa for example)

After 15 years (1996-2011) Galatasaray SK can close the chapter "new stadium"

Great to see that the stadium seems to be complete structurally, and it's now in the process of being fitted out, expecting this to be one of the best in Europe once it is completed.

A couple of observations on aspects I don't like though, and can be said for other modern developments. I don't like the swooping lines of the top tier, that drop towards the corners before rising again in the middle of each stand, I would love to see more modern grounds built with a consistent level of all the tiers. Also, these seats with the individual barriers look horrid! Surely a more aesthetically pleasing solution is out there?

You are not alone. Most people do not like the 2nd tier and the barriers at the 2nd tier

A symmetrical bowl is nice unless you're actually the one buying a ticket. Corners are the hardest seats to sell in any stadium due to having the worst viewing distances. Wavy tiers are just a way of redistributing seats to better viewing positions.

Is it just the second tier with those ugly barriers? What's the need for them?

Will there be any yellow section in the stadium at all? I would love to see 'GALATASARAY' written in yellow seats...

...or even 'TURK TELEKOM'..anything!

Yes, just the seast at the 2nd tier will have it, because the 2nd tier has got 50cm+ high rows.

Hi guys im new at this forum.
I think it will be easily ranked in the top 5 in Europe when it's completely finished!
Cant wait to go to visit a match from Galatasaray in their new home!

lol... top 5... i m a crazy gala fan but i m not THAT optimistic.... com on... i think many other clubs have far better stadiums... name a few

allianz, emirates, donbass, most germany 06 WC stadiums, new stadiums in england for WC, stadiums in portugal for euro, even old stadiums such as old trafford, nou camp, barnebue.... the list can go on and on....

however, the atmosphere may be one of the best in europe if ultraslan really tries hard.

it might be in top 25. depends on how we take care of it and what the club adds to the stadium.

That's my opinion i think it will be!
Btw you named some example like Barcelona?
Its only a big stadium..its far by ugly i think they should start to renovate it !
It's to old.. just look at the seats for example or just from the outside to the stadium!

I appreciate this, but level tiers offer more seats, and more chance to grade seats according to quality and reflect this in price, allowing for more tickets available a little cheaper, enabling more people to be able to afford to go to the games. Because even if you are a bit further from the action, if the price is right and the game is big enough, people will go and buy the tickets.

I can't say that I particularly like the exterior aesthetics of this stadium.

But the interior looks great. And that's all that really matters.

Will be a very intimidating arena when packed with Gala fans!

Lets wait Jim.
Tickets will be very expensive and it looks like only 1 or 2 stands will be for "ultrAslan".
Like at many new stadiums, the fans need time to create a good atmosphere.

Like you i prefer goof stands. The bowl is the most important thing at a stadium. Outside, roof etc are just bonus. If you have money you can make the outside like Allianz or Valencia. Not so much money, you have to "show" concrete

BTW distance at the goals stands to the line will be 8,2m. Like at new WHL
