Too big a stadium for a second division team. Betis was relegated this past season. They'll be back, certainly, but when?

Nowadays they've sold 34,000 season tickets, so it wont be so big...

Sevilla is the most football-crazy city in Spain, no doubt

But at what price - I get the feeling Sevilla is a 2 club city. You either support 1 or the other so this is not that much of a surprise. Still a good acheivement though.

Sevilla FC has the Spanish national record for fan travelling with 85k fans who travelled 600km (x2) to Madrid to attend the 2007 Cup Final. Betis has the second record with +60k to the 1997 Cup Final.

Seville is definitely the most football-passionate city in the whole Iberian Peninsula and there is no bigger derby than a Sevilla-Betis. Both teams have a fanbase to fill up 60k stadiums every match.

BUT there is a big cancer in the city, corruption. Both clubs have suffered for decades the misfortune of being ruled/owned by thieves that do not respect the teams, leading to club policies based on mistreating the fans whilst they charge them outrageous ticketing prices in a city with an unemployment rate of 35%... Nevertheless, both teams are able to average a +/- 30k assistance which is incredibly high for the circunstances and for the Spanish football´s idiosyncrasy.

I believe you know nothing about the Sevillian football history, therefore you should never speak about what you unknown.

this type of stadium doesn't cost too much and you have for nothing and good capacity even for average club

Just one stand covered where you put more money for vip, press, restrooms and players zone. The rest of the stadium isn't covered which cost less and no vip part. + the climatic conditions enable this with sun all year long

I understand better why la liga become so good . Passion+open debts system allowed for every clubs+ no restictive financial authority+ lowest taxes only for footbal (becham law) = a good championship .

How it should be as it will be finished

Stadium :

Exterior :

If they ever going to finish it and the works start they maybe could play there games at the Olympic stadium of Sevilla when it's not safe to play at Estadio benito villamarin during the works
