So ist es. Wenn man wenigstens mal die Nikolaikirche von außen renovieren würde - diese mächtige Hauptkirche Leipzigs verbirgt sich zwei Jahrzehnte nach der Wende immer noch hinter ihrem sozialistischen Schleier.

dieses potthässliche hochhaus gehört vorallem abgerissen. wenn in den nachrichten mal leipzig vorkommt, wird immer die "skyline" mit diesem ding gezeigt. kein wunder, dass die stadt keinen guten ruf hat.

Zur touristischen Vermarktung mag das sicherlich zutreffen. Allerdings, wer einmal wie ich, längere Zeit in Leipzig gelebt hat, wird feststellen können, dass diese Stadt unwahrscheinliches Potential hat.

Nach meiner bescheidenen Auffassung ist Leipzig die schönste und auch die „coolste“ deutsche Großstadt in ihrer Gewichtsklasse, von 400 bis 700.000 Einwohner!

Hier mal ein interessanter vorher-nachher-Vergleich, stellvertretend für die beachtlichen Sanierungsleistungen, bzw. auch Teilrekonstruktionen, welche in Leipzig seit der Wiedervereinigung durchgeführt wurden:
