Application for two additional office floors. This seems like really positive news for the office sector in Cardiff if there is still such strong demands but I'd really just like to see work start here so our daft bus situation can be sorted.

One of the biggest speculative office schemes ever seen in Wales is seeking a major expansion in a move fuelled by strong occupier interest.

Work on the 84,000 sq ft grade A office project, as part of the wider Interchange development, which will also include a new bus station, is under way at the Central Square scheme in the centre of Cardiff.

The commercial elements of the Interchange are being forward funded by L&G managed funds and delivered by property development firm Rightacres Property, which is also behind the wider Central Square scheme immediately in front of Cardiff Central Railway Station.

Now the Interchange project, which will also include 318 build to rent apartments, is seeking to add a further two floors to provide an eight storey office scheme, in a move that would increase its space to 120,000 sq ft.

Thanks for all these updates, Crazy; great stuff. I like that staircase through the middle of the Innovation Campus.

Feel free to start dedicated threads for any projects that don't already have them. I'm off to the US tomorrow for two and a half weeks so I'm not going to have as much time for the forum for a few weeks.

The desperation to save Cardiff's Norwegian Church from being turned into a private business

Cardiff council says it's not handing the church to a fast food chain

3 NOV 2019

More than 2,000 people have backed a campaign to save Cardiff Bay's Norwegian Church from being taken over by a private business.

The 19th Century church - described as a "beacon of Cardiff's maritime heritage" - could be transferred to a commercial tenant as the council needs to cut costs.

A fair number of cranes dotted around the city centre at the moment.

Premier Inn is rising and I am intrigued to see the final product. Likewise the Cardiff University work on the Maindy Campus is developing and will really beef up the entry to town, particularly via train.

Finally, reports of a piling machine at Central Square for the new bus station/ offices/ apartment tower. Work continuing apace on Wood St this part of town is really shaping up.

2020 could well be a busy year for Cardiff’s developing skyline.

Looking forward to seeing everything progressing next year. I'm hoping to get to Cardiff next weekend so should be able to get some updated photos if Christmas presents acquired sufficiently speedily!

Good luck with the Xmas shopping! Town is a real hive of activity at the moment so I am sure you will not be bored!

Away from the centre, I drove along the Llantrisant Rd and was amazed at the size of the development at Plasdwr. Serious thoughts must turn to transport - roads will not suffice. There has to be a realisation re-opening the rail line between Fairwater and Llantrisant is moving from desirable to mandatory.
