CE have a standard template that they work with. If you look closely at SouthbankOne and it's essentially the same design as their Melbourne and City tower development, with a few variations. The standard of design though is improving I think. I guess we can only hope they realise how significant a site they are developing.

If it proves to be an ordinary development, which would be a shame, the western half of the site which ISPT and Axiom still own will eventually be redeveloped to maybe hide it.

the thing is though that you shouldne have to develop a nearby site to hide something, it will be a hugly wasted opportunity if this tower/s very ordinary

Maybe it's a site we can mention as adding density........Great buildings are few and landmark structures are only a small percentage of a CBD. It's just a shame when sites like this are not developed to their potential.

They have permission to build a 50FL and a 40FL tower. If they say they are going "back to the drawing board," I'd imagine, since they cannot go any higher, they will only go lower.

Might as well grant Brady the rights to develop the SAMA site!

WTF!!!

Grow up!!! I was not having a go YOU, just agreeing with Tays who (like myself) is entitled to his opinion!!

This latest design is SHIT (especially for such a prominent site) so if you agree of not - I could give a ROCKS TOSS!!!

CE are renowned for cheap low end looking shit. Half of Southbank is a prime example!!

Based on the length of time (NOT) that you have been on this forum you are the last person, who's opinion I would care about (right or wrong)

CE blows big time - their stuff is uninspired and monotonous with no merit - cheap and not even that cheerful!

CE have improved greatly in the last 3-4 years.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what they actually propose for the Age site - although wasn't the building leased to the Australian Electoral commission for the next 12-18 months to do countnig for next years election? could be a while before we see anything happening there anyawy.

CE have only brought the back half of the site (the part of the site that has planning permission for 2 apartment towers). Axiom and ISPT still own the poo stained building on the corner of Spencer. They've said that they will lease the building out for a while before making a final decision on what to do with the site.

It might turn out pretty good. look on the Central Equity website at past projects, the hight and quality of the central equity developments has been improving over time. this may just be a very nice development.

51 (52)-level , 476-unit building to be known as the Australis Tower on Lonsdale Street; and a 39 (40)-level, 272-unit building to be known as Hemisphere Tower, on Little Lonsdale Street
