But what a strange city we live in. Over the road you have council flats and just round the corner you have swanky apartments. A stones throw from one another.

They are going to paint the brickwork. I usually hate painted brickwork. I think people should require planning permission to paint brickwork and permission should almost always be refused and the person asking for permission to paint their brickwork should be given a good slap.

Let’s hope this painted brickwork looks ok.

Finally!! Never thought I would see the day that this eyesore would go. I hope we see a domino effect in this area as there has been almost nothing for years now and it’s an absolute dump in parts.

Sweet little building this, good to see it getting a new lease of life. I too have concerns about 'painted' brickwork though...

A very nice scheme by the reliable BPN Architects, and an interesting marker for rehabilitating 1950s industrial buildings.

Some conditions still need to be met, namely the submission of sample materials & window reveal details, otherwise this has been very much approved already

Looks like this one is underway in some shape or form. Saw workman entering and leaving and filling a skip a few weeks ago and now scaffolding has been erected as well as the road closed behind it (although not sure that is due to this development).

Just glad to hopefully see the back of the eyesore at last.

Yes, this is U/C. Looking through a window, there is internal propping.

The apartments are now listed for sale with Fleet Milne, and on property websites. There is a meet the developer event on 19th September.

Lots of progress on the steelwork extension in the last couple of days.

Voted regularly as one of the best places in Brum for a curry, with very friendly staff http://thekegandgrill.co.uk

Scaffolding's down. A lot of interior work to go, though.
