This scheme is an definite improvement on the structure on this site currently , I would think demolition would start at the end of this academic year , so that disruption is minismed.

Overall this looks like a great project in terms of layout, circulation, massing and fit into a very tight site, plus Rogers signature exterior bracing. My only reservation is regarding the long facades with their window patterning, which is masked to some degree by the vertical glass strips.

It's a shame they've removed the bright red LSE cube from the top - would have been a great focal point/marker. I imagine that's a Westminster request?

The construction of the building keeps coming along quite nicely. I took this picture two weeks ago:

There is also a video introducing the building:

And a fly-through of the finished product here:

See the beer barrels in Phidias' Youtube screen grab? That's the dray entrance for the LSESU bar, the Three Tuns, the bar that sold the most tequila in London when I worked there in 1990. It was called Tequila Night and the students went crazy ape bonkers.

Id like to see a plan for tying the LSE campus round there together. Giving it some sort of cohesion or common trait?

Can't say those 'voids' are as transparent as the renders suggested...oh dear.

This building may look best in the early evenings when the interior lights allow the voids to be expressed better.
