Keeping alive the 1960's/70's style I see, awful.

They look quite good there every apartment with a balcony I think they will let well.
Many of the pictures we have seen so far don't reflect how it will be seen in 5 - 10 years time. With Arena Central developed and Paradise Circus developed these apartments won't be visible from many angles.

These scenes just scream 1960's at me.. chuck in the graffiti and you have early 80's deprivation. I really don't like this, and if the materials are going to be average - not even crap - then this plot might just as well be dead to me.

If you look, there is a LOT of empty souless interior space under the main building - there are no active frontages. Not even offices by the looks of things. The second photo's awful.

No my previous impression was along the lines of your post I suppose I'm not as against it as I was previously. Seeing that each apartment has its own balcony it reminds me of centenary plaza across the road. Also as mentioned they will blocked by other buildings.

Are you mad??
can you clarify this point please? the ground floor is to be used for retail/commercial space according to the application, so what do you mean with regard to an active frontage? retail frontages are often considered active to my mind!?

they do look a little 60's I will give you that, but that in itself isn't a bad thing. many things in the 60s should have been great but often materials were poor and maintenance not considered. for this to be successful, both these elements need to be considered.

isn't the primary external finish meant o be a polished concrete?

FFS. It looks like some 1970s hotel that should front the beach in Alicante.

If we were getting something like Glenn Howells it would have been ok, but this is just embarassing. Dandara must be proud of their project portfolio though. As long as the profit margins are good I doubt they give a shit. Jokers.

Is that correct width? Looks a bit awkward and thin in that render?

Agreed the render Isn't the best, looks amateurish and squashed. Best to wait for a better quality one.

These are the new CGI's. They have superseeded what we've previously seen.

They are accurate i'm afraid.

All previous renders have now got 'improved' CGI's, design statement etc. It doesn't look any better, it just shows us more clearly how shit it actually is.

It's much better than what's there at the moment, and that's what matters.

Underwhelming - Dull - Grim - Bleak - An Abomination - tick as appropriate.

Im not overwhelmed by the Paradise Circus proposal, however Arena Central is a hugh let down.

Brum deserves better than this.

:-(
