These don't look like complicated builds so they should just fly up quickly. And I do agree that there is no need for a statement building so close to the Town Hall and Council offices, as they themselves are there to make the statement.

The biggest disappointment is the hotel at the corner of the whole development. I'm not really worried about the two Chamberlain buildings provided its built finished tidily.

None of the buildings are statement, but they're all pretty good in their own right. The whole site should look statement rather than an individual build, which I think is a pretty good effect!

Bournville Baggie's on the case again with an update on Flickr:

This is officially under construction now, not sure why we're using the thread for the whole masterplan still.

Can BUG move this to the construction forum please?

How amazing would this have been as a park in the heart of the city with opportunity to create a new canal basin.

Thank you for sharing the photos! I had to double take there as I did not recognise the buildings for a moment, I thought it was a shot from London. It is a shame, in my opinion, that the full view of these beautiful buildings will be hidden again, it would have been great as an open public space but I am grateful that the old library is gone

Plenty of Canals already in Brum, Gas Street Basins is Yards away.

I'll take more Business's and large scale Job Creation we're going to get over more empty space. Parks are great, but not here.

From the artists impressions it looks like a new public work of art in the form of an angel will be installed in Chamberlain Square, could this mean we won't see the statues of Attwood, Priestly and Watt returned to the square when it reopens to the public.

Angel statue located lower centre right.

Im unsure if your being sarcastic or not, Im leaning towards not though.

I made the assumption that it was a street entertainer?

Once we've completed the squares of Chamberlain, Centenary and Arena Central (and even Exchange sq) can we bring some of the statues out of storage BCC?

Certainly wasn't being sarcastic, but on second thoughts I'll go along with your assumption.
