This one may have restarted as an excavator was on site doing its thing this morning. Not a very busy site but something happening nonetheless.

From St Modwen Homes website

21 October 2019

After a long period of inactivity on the plot of land behind St. Anne's Church in Digbeth, the new developer of the site, St. Modwen Homes, has commenced with enabling works to prepare for construction in November.

St. Modwen Homes purchased the 1.19-acre land, known as St. Anne's Court, at the start of the year and committed to complete the delivery of the original residential scheme that ground to a halt nearly two years ago.

While the overall concept will remain the same, the housebuilder has proposed some enhancements to the design to bring its signature St. Modwen Homes style to the scheme.

When finished, the residential building will be home to an intended array of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, a small number of exclusive penthouse suites, as well as a communal rooftop terrace with spectacular views across Birmingham city centre.

Due to the limited ground space on site, the building will be completed in two phases, allowing the team to complete one half of the building before moving on to the next phase. Following fit-out and installation, both phases will complete together, and the building will be ready for occupation in the summer of 2021.

Richard Rees, Construction Manager at St. Modwen Homes, said: "I'm sure residents and business owners will be glad to see progress on the site which has been dormant for many years. We look forward to creating a development that has a strong sense of community for those living and working in Digbeth.”

Dave Smith, Managing Director at St. Modwen Homes, said: “A bustling melting pot of style, culture and innovation, Digbeth has undoubtedly earned the title as Birmingham’s creative quarter. We are thrilled that this development will be our first urban apartment building in the city, and look forward to bringing our creative and thoughtful approach to Digbeth.”

St. Modwen Homes will announce a new name for the development in the coming weeks.:

Did anyone else reject the offer from Modwen to terminate their contracts and recover the deposit?

Was really looking forward to the dark brick, that’s like the 3rd development now that has changed brick colour in the area.

St Modwen are saying that this will be a mix of 1, 2, 3beds whereas it was being built as 170 1 beds.

Which brick colour is it from Pep's post?

The original brochure lists 144 1-beds and 26 2-beds - presumably they will need amendment to the planning permission to add to or change this?
