Here is how the site currently looks, the site actually extends past both sides of this photo, giving an image of just how big the site is, currently the best news for the Gun Quarter.

This has now been approved, not sure when we'll see movement, FGF still have to move out before demolition can start!

Used to walk past this site everyday when I lived in Canalside student halls round the corner. It is such a huge site and will look so much better and hopefully a lot more street interaction. The gates that were there used to have an automated voice warning you to move away when walking on the pavement near the gates.

More residents round here will help the Gunmakers Arms which is run by the good guys at Two Towers Brewery too.

I emailed St Josephs and they have responded by saying that they hope to start on site as soon as they can after the current tenant vacates in August.

All being well, we'll see a start on site in the Autumn.

St Joseph's have put in an app 2018/03862/PA for three advertisement hoardings and fourteen flag poles for the site.

They emailed me back a month or so ago saying that the tenants of the site aren't due out until August and they want to get on site as quick as possible so St Joseph's do seem very keen to get rolling with it.

Most developments around the canals are my fav and it’s great to see so many coming forward after years of neglect.

According to St Joseph's website, this site is launching in August. Hopefully construction won't be too far behind.

Thanks Ralph, FGF are moving out in August so I assume we'll see demolition soon after.

Sorry, I'd completely and utterly forgotten about the small matter of demolition.

Let's hope this is just the first of many from St Josephs.

Will it get built in phases or all at once?

Yeah I think they were targeting 4-5 different sites from memory. It’s good to see higher quality developments like this around the city which hopefully we will start to see more of especially from the likes of these and Galliard/Apsley who seem more focused on quality and their reputation rather than just trying to make a quick buck.

Hopefully this will be more of the benchmark to expect in general in the future. As mentioned in one of the other threads some of those blocks thrown up in the 2000s on the cheap are starting to look worse and worse especially around the NIA.

This is by far my favorite residential proposal. It will be interesting to see the difference in apartment price between this and St Lukes.
