Second best in the world! Better than Hong Kong, but second to New York. How can you hate the Sears Tower/John Hancock/Aon?...the big three.

chicago

I would give this fine city a 10/10. Its my favorite in the US for the fact that it has an amazing mix of very early american architecture ,70's building (and yes, i hate these as much as the next person) and more modern buildings...ITS ALL PUT TOGETHER TO MAKE ONE HELL OF A SKYLINE.!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what makes a great skyline: it's more than the sum of its parts. You could have the same buildings, but not arranged so perfectly, and it would not be as great of a skyline. Not as many skyscrapers as New York, but spaced perfectly to form a whole, and still be admired individually (although like New York, there are many beautiful buildings that are crowded out and can't be appreciated unless you're right across the street).

No doubt Chicago is one of the top 3. For all those that think Sears and John Hancock messed up the skyline, i think it makes alot better, and u kno that if they were in ur skyline u would like them alot!

Whatever its other weaknesses, Chicago's skyline is a 10, pure and simple.

Chicago gets a 10

Though the skyline is plagued by many ugly boxes from 50's, 60's and 70's (though I like Hancock and Sears, stuff like the Aon Building is disastrous)... it has so much great old architecture... it was really the inventor of skyscrapers... amazing collection of pre-WW2 buildings... and the city has some fantastic po-mo buildings as well... and the height is stunning... great density
