BANGKOK - Ragamangala National Stadium (55,000)

Rajamangala National Stadium

1998 Asian Games main stadium
2000 Thailand National Games main stadium
2003 AFC Women's Asian Championship final venue
2007 Summer Universiade main stadium

Note: The east end of the stadium was originally made of bare concrete steps. Recent work has made sure that the entire stadium is covered in real seating.

It's supposed to have a 65000 capacity, but the new seats pushed the capacity down. The stadium may be an all-seater now, but they forgot to count all the new and originl seating.

It looks larger than 49700, that is too low. It could probably be a 60,000 capacity.

It holds just under 70k

Me and a few friends there went there when it was packed in a Asian cup match between Thailand and Australia.

To ncas: Fine, force us to build a completely new stadium with an 80k capacity for a Bangkok Olympics.

The Rajamangala Stadium has a rather simple design. It lacks a true exterior fašade, so its exterior is only a concrete structural frame. Also, unlike other stadiums with a similar capacity, the Rajamangala Stadium has zero luxury boxes. You know who the stadium was designed by? The Faculty of Architecture at Chulalongkorn University
