keep in mind these lights echo the Aurora Australis, they pulse and change colour as intended.

Yeah this is pretty much the standard Aurora display thatís on almost every night now - which to be fair is exactly what they said they would do back in the original brochure.

Perhaps the muted lighting brightness was intended all along the testing just showed what was possible - still be nice if they could do a once in a while ĎMardi grasí display ..

Nothing muted about the sunset last night tho ..

This taken from the Library Lounge on 86 .. a lovely quiet chill out room with the best view in the whole building ...

It's turned out better than the renders, which is saying something.

I actually think it's underappreciated now that it's finished.

At the time of approval it was a maximum height tower with respect to aviation limits of the time.

If proposed now, it would possibly be a supertall (above street), just.

What height would it amount too today?

318m RL, 302m above street. But crane penetration may have been an issue, so being conservative knock 10m off, so 292m above street if proposed today using Matthew Guy rules.

CBD - North > Aurora Melbourne Central - 224-252 La Trobe St > 271m / 84L / residential / completed

The lights were shades of red and orange and yellow last night and brighter than usual ..

.. obviously for Chinese New Year - good to see them actually doing themes for special occasions not just the regular aurora colours every night from now on.

Meanwhile the building itself is now a lovely shade of red thanks to the dirty rain the other day ... and no fresh rain in sight to wash it away .. FWP yeeesh !!
