Richard Meier


Born October 12, 1934, in Newark, New Jersey (United States), is an American architect. In 1963, he created his agency in his New York apartment, his first order being a home for his parents in Essex Fells, New Jersey...

Jubilee Church | Richard Meier & Partners

The Jubilee Church by Richard Meier & Partners conceived as part of Pope John Paul II’s millennium initiative to rejuvenate parish life within Italy, is located outside central Rome.



The proportional structure of the entire complex is based on a series of squares and four circles. Three circles of equal radius generate the profiles of the three concrete shells that, together with the spine-wall, make up the body of the nave.
