The majority in Køge City Council wants to expand the town hall with 3880 m2.
The project to about 50 million. will consist of two buildings being built in the east end of the existing town hall.
Since the buildings is facing the new shopping street, the The ground floors of the two buildings will not contain offices.
instead there will be shops at 800 and 580 m2
Why the town hall needs to be extended, is due to the municipal offices in Sønder havn need to be demolished.
And that is in order to make room for the køge kyst project.

It would be interesting with some photo post in this thread as well. Far too often the posts in here are simples links taken from others press links, which is okay, but a bit boring in the long run.

Come on Bongo and Milipumpa, let's see some nice photos of your developing city Your city is compared to its size, almost over represented in here with you 2 local guys, and you previous did photograph some projects for the forum.

I will try to get out more often, but i am a little bit lacy.
However, most projects are actually still only on paper.
But that should not keep me (and bongo-anders) from taking pictures of the few ongoing construction sites.

You are right, this thread is not so photo heavy like the other threads on this board but when i (hopefully) get my Lumia back from repairs i can take some photos of Cirkelhuset that are now reaching the first floor out of 7.

It was a shame about the weather but what the heck, we won 2-1 over Brønshøj today so we can hope of some better weather on our next photo trip wich hopefully will include the apartments at Boholte and some real construction around Køge Station.

And now to some copy/paste news.

Construction of the new breakwaters at køge port, has come a step closer.

http://www.sn.dk/Bygger-vej-ud-til-k...artikel/225876

The contracting firm MJ Eriksson will on Monday begin the extension of the transport center with more than 500.000 square meters.
It also means that Køge is getting 700 meters closer to Lille Skensved.

http://koege.lokalavisen.dk/nu-udvid...120929769/1426

And the municipality begins the planning to create a local plan, for the area where the Campus Køge is located.
The local plan must make room for student housing, more educational facilities, infrastructure and a sports field (both indoor and outdoor).

Here you can see the initial sketches for the area.

Sometimes we see old projects from before the financial crisis resurrected but I believe this is the oldest rendering we have seen so far of a future project in the Danish section of SSC:

Køge Museum has plans to build a "renaissance shipyard" in the Sønder Havn section of Køge harbour and create a navigable 1:1 reconstruction of Christian IV's frigate The Lobster which will afterwards be used for tourist pirposes.

It is a fantastic idea, and I really really hope it will turn out well. Køge will be a great place to watch it, and in relations to the the history and the location it's perfect.
The Danish ship/marine history is so interesting and large, and i don't see we have seen the fully potential of that.

My own dream is a model of one of the big ones placed in Cph...

And thanks to Milipumpa and Anders for the fine sight seeing

I have just realised that i can be seen on the photo with the "Marcipanbrød" train or what the nickname was for that train.
