What suit the new buildings a lot, is the existing old industry hangars. Beautiful colors, and I so much hope they will restore and preserve them for the future.

I share your concern Hafnia about these lovely old factory buildings. I hope they find a new use for them.
Maybe this link to Kulturstyrelsen will reassure us a bit.
I was told by a local, that a market hall is planned in the largest of the two buildings. Hope she is right.

The corner of Roskildevej and Peter Bangs Vej will be graced with a sister Facility to the ugly Pelica Self Storage at Østerport Station. It will have a shop in the ground floor, though.

First thanks for sharing, I never thought this to be a part of Valby.
This corner has always been a great opportunity for a cool design, and not like now, the so ol' fashion gas station that has been there for ages.

What an absurd thought if this spot will be replaced with such a crabby and understimulated plan.

At the Rødovre/Damhus side of the lake, the Rødovre municipality was recently rejected with an relatively ambitious highrise, due a few local nimby's that succeded to thwart their plans, but if the Pelican storage design in Cph. wish to do their discount architecture, so please go a head.

It's unbeliveable that the city council and the head architect accept such a poor design on this visible entrance port to the city, and this would never been a possibillity in the more bigger thinking Stockholm.

My bad - I actually think it is Vanløse on that side of Roskildevej.

But I could not agree more. Especially if they go through with the plans for a restoration of Harrestrup Å, that Whole area has a great potential for becoming an attractive part of the city.

I suppose it is only natural that the pompany enjoys this sort of very visible locations - we have also seen it in the South Harbour - but why on Earth does the city tolerate it? It isn't exactly the sort of client or Development that you need to suck up to. And there would be plenty of possible locations Down some side street closeby.

That area is in fact Valby. It goes all the way up to Grøndalsparken.

Putting the finishing touches to the new platform and suprise, suprise, an IC4 train set passes by on the direct line to the airport. (which is also the location of the servicing workshops, which was probably it's destination).

The first four km of the restoration of HarrestrupÅ along Valby's western margin, from Damhusengen to the new Kalveboderne Beach, now seems to be ready by 2018. Will probably take a bit longer before it looks quite like this though:

The new quarter Valby Maskinfabrik -DFE- keeps extendind behind Gl.Køge Landevej. Slowly but surely.

Symbolic for the neighborhoods old industrial past, this fine cogwheel? is being decorating the area. Fine idea


Yvonne (Olsenbanden) would have been proud if she saw what Valby looks like nowadays.
