Great news, I thought it had been postponed due to lack of financing.

Yes it is Vesterbro so out of the district Indre By. But of course not as out the inner city to the suburbs.

BaneDanmark is now located in Østerbro (Amerika Plads), Trafikstyrelsen is located in Ørestad. I can hardly see it as an "out of inner city"-move.

But still I think it's a good project, and a good idea!

Too bad DSB is not moving to the same location, but is moving out of the city for real (to Høje Tåstrup). Primary because I work at DSB, and also because it would make great sense to gather all these related trafical companies and institutions close to each other. Metro could also move their administration to their new site nearby (they have only temperary buildings in Ørestad Syd as it is now).

They are trying to separate Bane Danmark and DSB even more so I think that its good that they are not moving together.

I think that regular people can't tell the difference between these two, but the new announcement tone that they are now using on the stations should make it even more clear. (see the danish infrastructure thread)

But they have to take a closer look at the traffic announcements that they put up on their website, they are still using the word we and us when talking about DSB so its no wonder that regular Joe can't separate the infrastructural manager and the transportation provider.

LetMeLoose: First project to be realised in this area! A lot is due to come later! I'm not sure whether this is considered to be a part of Vesterbro or Sydhavnen.
Not to confuse you, but we have a nice convenient thread perfect for the occasion
BTW: The design looks cool.

Pihl skal bygge fremtidens kontrolcenter

22. marts 2013 - Af Redaktionen

Her forventer Banedanmark at sende udbuddet ud inden sommerferien og vælge entreprenør inden efteråret.

Piling and earthworks have started for the circular railway Control Centre.
The extension of Carsten Niebuhrs Vej will be at the rear of the building from where there will be a connection to Kalvebod Brygge/Vasbygade to the left.
Work will soon start on an underground junction chamber, where the excavator on the right is standing, to allow construction of the Sydhavns metro line to Ny Ellebjerg, without disturbing access to the workshops.

and an update on the new office building behind Fisketorv while I was up on the roof anyway.

Progress on the Kalvebod Bølge. In contrast to some of the other harbour projects, this might even be finished by the summer.

More progress on the Kalvebod Wave and an, unfortunately, very seldom sight, Langebro is up, to allow Bjørnsholm to pass through.

Difficult to see how nicely the trees and bushes have grown on the SEB site but on the other hand you can see the Kalvebod Wave from the other side of the harbour.

A photo from Kalvebod Bølge, this time using imgur to opload. Thanks for the tip Freki.

OOps!!! I was not able to reduce the size of the Photo on imgur (any tips Freki?). I leave the shot in place as it is, to celebrate my return to the thread and try to get the hang of downsizing later.
Damn Tinypics. May they rot in Cyberspace.

If an image submitted by a user with a free account is not accessed at least once during a six-month period, it will be deleted.

Now the shape is apparent on the signalling centre uc.
The name "roundhouse" has railway associations in Amerca so maybe this will called the Kalvebod Roundhouse.
The ground floor is almost completely closed, as the future landscaping will be several meters over the street level, as a continuation of the high green park from SEB corner to Otto Busse's Vej.

The new signalling centre. One of the building sites where they are not holding summer holidays.
