Curiel de Duero by santiago lopez-pastor, en Flickr

From Curiel de Duero we can see the huge Peńafiel castle.

Castillo de Peńafiel by santiago lopez-pastor, en Flickr

Curiel had a great fortified palace built in 1410 by Zúńiga family, but it was abbandoned and expoiled in the 20th century...

The most valuable parts of the palace were sold in 1920's decade. -> http://artevalladolid.blogspot.com/2...l-palacio.html

Nobody knows where are these magnificent mudejar doors...

And finally the castle on the high part that nowadays is a modern hotel.

Thank you!

This one is usually named as one of the most picturesque villages in Spain. Alcalá del Júcar, in Albacete. 650 inhabitants nowadays, 4,000 50 years ago.

It is a white village in the Jucar riverbank.

Yep! Thank you Silvia!

Near Alcalá there is another village in the Júcar riverbank, very unknown. It is Jorquera, 400 inhabitants.

The road from Alcalá to Jorquera is a pleasure. Some wild goats appeared jumping in the rocks.

Beautiful! Particularly love the fragile iron decoration in pic 2.
A "Cerveceria" is specialized in beer?

Yep, the word cervecería means the place where you can drink bear, but it's another way to call a bar, I would bet they don't have more than 3 or 4 different beer brands

Now I'm showing you a big one, Ciudad Rodrigo, in Salamanca province. 12,000 inhabitants and just 30 kms away from Portugal border.

As a small city close to the border, it is a fortified city in the riverbank of a river. You can cross Águeda river by this old roman bridge.

Ciudad Rodrigo by santiago lopez-pastor, en Flickr

Ciudad Rodrigo by santiago lopez-pastor, en Flickr

King Enrique II castle.

Ciudad Rodrigo by santiago lopez-pastor, en Flickr

It is an original 12th century walled village, that was adapted to the new war style in the 18th century so it could resist the bombings and fire guns: a fortification bastion with a star shape, with many angles and few straight walls.

Pic from Ángel Romero Elorriaga blog.

Out of the walls, you can see the 3 roman columns that where part of a temple in the times of the old Miróbriga, and are the symbol of the city since the middle ages.
