Maybe I'm just a pessimist these days, but god I hate it! Holmbladsgade is a weird street, I know that. But the first part of it is actually really charming.

Just looks like a disrespectful infill. Nothing aligns with the neighbouring buildings.

Yes not an overly exciting building, but a social housing in a relatively central spot must put some restrains on the design if it should be affordable for the target group. Thus I doubt social housing is the right choice for this spot, given the area already have a fair share of these.
Nevertheless I’m glad at least something is happening to this corner that has as long as I’ve been living in the area, been cut off from the public with a dead wall.

Here is an interesting infill under construction in Bruneparken in Hvidovre.
A break from the traditional architecture and an urbanising of the whole area.

The city council decided that Vesterbrogade 107c is to be demolished. It also means Enghavevej 8-16 will go too and the empty space/parking at Sundvedsgade 21-25 will be filled.

http://politiken.dk/ibyen/byliv/ECE3...kal-rives-ned/

I couldn't find the plans for the area, so if anyone has them handy, that would be great.

That should have been a could be :P

Looking thought the Startredegørelse, it seems that the building mention in Politiken isn't covered in the text and figures.

Then again, looking at map at arealinformation.miljoeportal.dk (tick of Adresser)
107c mention in Politiken looks like one of the building a long Vesterbrogade:

http://www.blivhoert.kk.dk/hoering/vesterbrogade-107c

Where in Hvidovre is this? I am getting no hits on the address.

If this used to be a narrow trail with some bushes that normally define the gap between this type of building I think it’s huge!

This should serve as a densification model in all the dull 3-floor (insert random flower/animal-)Parken/Haven in the inner suburbs and maybe even integrate them with the street grid.

Found it! Brunevang 64

Although it is surprisingly remote (outside Vestvolden). It is Indeed one of those places i mentioned that could benefit from some 150%+ densification with closed courtyards and proper streets

The building in the middle used to be dilapidated, almost falling apart. I remember walking past thinking it would be best if it were torn down. How wrong I was, it has since been refurbished and with this project Sundholmsvej gets a much needed boost. The area is in general among the poorest and least attractive in the municipality. Seeing good projects like these is much more optimistic for me, than any of the flashy harbor projects.

I once lived round the corner from here and felt the same. Google maps lets you see how the building looked in 2009. Good to see the area getting an uplift

Transformer transformation!

Old infill, new use...

The Brutalist 1960s transformer station infill opposite Magasin du Nord on the street Bremerholm will adapted for use as retail, offices and apartments by Bertelsen & Scheving Arkitekter.

The building tofay:

Transformation:

Quote:

Quote:
