Yes, Bardejov is a jewel. There has been the renovations of the central square three, or four years ago.
Thanks bizi for bringing this great photo thread.

Great renovations. Where did you get the money from? EU?

Not sure about that. Rennovation, however, began in 2003, so in that time the accessibillity of Eu funds was more troublesome, than now. It´ s a possibillity, but I am not sure.

Also, Bardejov has a fine development plan: http://bardejov.implementace.cz/docs/plan_en.pdf, so it is good to hear, that even in a relatively far destination from Bratislava and also Košice the town ambitions are fine. There is also a nice spa resort in the near.

I was in Bardejov last friday, it's really a pleasant little town!
I'll post my pictures as well in the next days, if you like!

Looks like a rather rich city in Slovakia... The living standard in Bardejov seems pretty good... their houses are very clean in your pics.

@ Xäntårx: Bardejov is on UNESCO World Heritage List and one of the prettiest old towns in Slovakia, so it doesn't surprise me that the old town is almost perfectly restored and so beautiful. Outside of it there are some not so pretty districts (mainly commieblocks), but it's all still very clean usually, and it's rather touristic. Surely this is not one of the richest parts of the country...

Quite well informed, Carletto. Also, not so far from Bardejov is a collection of 27 original wooden churches, they are worth to see as well. Bardejovské kúpele /Bardejov spa/ too.
Anyway, the region is not only living from the tourists. Recently Bardejov industrial park attached another new investor. It is by far not the richiest part of the country, but the region is not sleeping...

I don't think I'm so imformed, but every time I visit a Country, or part of it I always try to get most information I can, thanks to internet, so since I just came back from Eastern Slovakia I'm more informed than usual! Anyway I have great sympathy for Slovakia, that helps too!

I have plenty of pics from Bardejovské kúpele as well, I'm going to post them too, if you like!

Great, go ahead with the pictures of Bardejov spa, fine, but please don´ t overload the forum with the pictures from SVK and CZ, otherwise we will be too lazy to take the camera and make some good shots

Ahah, unfortunately I stil have to visit many pretty places in these 2 lovely countries (but I started showing Hungary too, which deserves more space as well), so you cannot get lazier! Right now I cannot show you the other pics of Bardejov spa, but I promise I upload them in the next days, maybe tomorrow!
