Kök = ? (kok means chef)

Kickin' the ****?
Maybe they got really annoyed with some roosters!
On second thought... maybe it's something related to the feminist movement?!

A defence tower of Tallinn's old town has this name. It comes from low german from 1696 meaning "peek into the kitchen".

I bet it's Friesen. (north eastern section of the Netherlands) My one set of grandparents were born there.

the sign looks nothing like what you see in Holland on the main roads though.

Nah, Fries looks different. Fries has more influences from scandinavic languages or even english than from german.

Funny! Kiek in de kök. Nice example showing that all german languages have the same roots. 'Kök' is pronounced as 'keuk' in dutch, which is very similar to the dutch word for kitchen; keuken. We would say: kijkje in de keuken (peek into the kitchen)

There are a lot green/yellow signs on the Struma motorway, look really awesome, we always drive to fast to catch these signs up.

This is a Dutch sign, mainly used in Amsterdam. Smoking pod (wich is legal in The Netherlands) is prohibited in this area.

I'm as puzzled as you... The prohibiting sign has no place there at all actually...

If anyone has doubts about the Canadian obsession with the automobile, look no further than these road signs in Mississauga on the western flank of Toronto.

It would be quite a mess if every pedestrian just suddenly crosses the street.
