i do not like some (or many) scrapers. too much similar looking ones. but we do not know what's inside.
![]() ok. the buildings are not very beautiful to me but the skyline is so amazing. by night, the hideous talls become cool lights that brighten up this big city. i like the formation of the buildings. nice skyline. 7.0/10 the roads are cool. <-side comment.

Typical Chinese skyline - very chaotic, very big, some nice towers, lots of ugly blocks, 7.5/10

Tianjin is changing a lot. Just two years ago, when I was here, you really couldn't tell where "downtown" was. In fact, I remember driving out into the country and seeing fish ponds and little Mao-era shacks, and all of a sudden stumbling upon a 40 story skyscraper! Then it was back to the shacks. Now, they're starting to develop a downtown, and it's starting to fill in, although it still has a ways to go. I'll try and take some pictures next time I'm in town on Saturday and post 'em up here.

Pictures of Tianjin...
Well, I finally made it downtown for a bit, and was able to take a few pics. Please, pitty me and my crappy digital camera.
![]() ![]() ![]() It still needs some work, but I think it is improving immensly. I'll try and take some pictures from the TV tower sometime soon, preferably with my Pentax K1000, and get the pics transfered to digital. |

What exactly is a "normal Chinese city"? From what I've seen, there doesn't seem to be anything that can be called archtypical in China. If you are referring to Shanghai, HK, etc, those cities aren't "normal" by any means.
