BNE now has the worst public transport of any major airport, in particular there there are no services to meet many flights at night or early morning.

A glider bus to Skygate would be great, but needs late night connection to the terminals. The airport needs an overhaul of public transport arrangements with the new runway, auto-mall and other developments.

At least the parking situation has improved.

Meanwhile, a trial of dogs on ferries.

Good idea i think, the restrictions on pets on public transport is one of the big reason people choose to drive instead. Also improves life for people who can't drive. Needs a muzzle, even for small dogs.

Pet dogs on ferries trial

From Monday 9 December 2019 until Sunday 8 March 2020 we're conducting a trial that allows pet dogs to travel on Brisbane River ferries including CityCats.

Dogs are allowed to travel between 8.30am - 3.30pm and 7pm - 6am weekdays and all weekend.

To ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers, handlers will be required to:
  • ensure their dog is in an enclosed carrier, or on a lead and wearing a muzzle
  • remain outside the ferry cabin and maintain control of their dog
  • carry waste bags and clean up after their dog.

Due to capacity, or other operational reasons, the ferry master may ask you and your dog to wait for another service.
Launch weekend 14 - 15 December

If you'd like to find out more about the trial, our staff will be at Bulimba, New Farm Park and West End ferry terminals each morning next weekend to answer all your questions. The first 50 dogs to visit us get a free doggy gift-bag!

Remember, if you'd like to take your pooch on the ferry, you'll need to bring a carrier or muzzle.

I like that they're putting those conditions on it. Too many people think their beloved dog can do no wrong and have them out walking without even a leash where they're meant to.
