I don't think so... during the nights, most of the bicycles of the bikesharing system used to be parked, so you need enough parkings for all of them, no?

You do need to offer enough parking for the shared bikes, but the trick is that one shared bike can take several normal bikes off the road. For example in Antwerpen each shared bike is used about 6 times per day on average, while a normal bike may be used only once per day. If everyone using the shared bike would have used a personal bike before then 6 times as many bike parking spots would have been required (in reality it's less than this, but in countries like Holland or Belgium a substantial share of bikeshare users would have used a personal bike otherwise). At Dutch train stations the difference can be much bigger since people often have a special 'station bike' that they park there for days or even weeks just to make one roundtrip to and from the train station possible. So if people use bikesharing they'd require far less bicycle parking spaces, particularly at train stations.
