Springvale cemetery in Melbourne hosts weddings. Accessible by train and bus.

Kalamunda Council has released a short-list for a new name for the proposed Forrestfield Station and the suburban area around it. The options are: Katadjen, Koorliny, Munday, Quenda Grove and Smokebush. What a horrible selection. I was hoping for one of those pretty aboriginal names ending in "up" (which I think means place) which would have been appropriate considering it is next to an airport.

Classic, to name things after what used to be there. Munday, as in Munday Swamp soon to disappear under third runway, good one.

Katadjen sounds okay, but what does it mean. 'Knowledge' in Noongar apparently.

Smokebush would probably be more appropriate for the residents that will eventually live there.

Smokebush will win because when Government, on any level, gets involved in names they always choose the one that can be parodied the most because they do not get out much.

While you have declared the above media release was 5 months old, I also see voting closed already on the 24th May 2019

I see there is also a prize.
"The winning name will see its applicant win a $500 prize."

Maybe on another page a winner has been already declared.

I hope it was wasn't Munday. Someone would surely close off the U and make it an O. Then imagine a YouTube video being made to mock it.

Simply 'Quenda' would be better than 'Quenda Grove'. A grove of what?

A grove of Southern Brown Bandicoots.

You'd hope for a statue if it wins.
