Main Road is significantly higher on the "danger" list than Furlong Road, mainly due to its substantially higher pedestrian count.

AIUI all crossings which RRL will pass through will get gradesepped, which would be Anderson Rd x2, Fitzgerald Rd, Mt Derrimut Rd and Robinsons Rd. It'll also include a rebuild of Albion station and the area around it (which will hopefully include returning Ballarat Road to ground level because the station is getting lowered).

no need to rebuild Albion station? you mean Sunshine. RRL comes in south of Albion Station.

would only be one crossing of Anderson Road - although doing one crossing of Anderson may necessitate doing the other (or be cost effective to do the other at the same time).

I read in the local Geelong paper that tourists in Geelong and the Bellarine was down nearly 50%

Geelong is now "the bypass to the great ocean road"

ah well, now Geelong will experience what every other country town has that gets a bypass built around it. This might make em lift their game and build themselves a real city (which they can because there isn't a traffic sewer running through it) which people need to go to

There should be even less people when the road sign approaching Geelong actually states the correct language.
ATM the sign states go left (old road through Geelong) for Great Ocean Road.
Go right for Ballarat - Horsham.

Most people go left.
I so lol'd
Its much faster to go around and drive past the Quarry then to wrestle with Hoons and traffic lights on the old highway. Just miss going past the yards though.

Always has and always will be Sleepy Hollow. Lived there for 28 years and did nothing for me.

AIUI the Sydenham line is getting another two tracks until about halfway between Albion and Ginifer, in the vicinity of the Ring Road.

A side effect is that Albion will have straight platforms, and one more obstacle to double-stacking on the SG line will be removed.

Great shots guys, well done. Looks good.

Ringwood sure has changed a lot in the last decade.

If you guys regularly go past Nunawading on the Maroondah Highway, let me know when a a frame goes up on the MFB site near Springvale Road (few doors down from KFC - opposite Maccas). Hoping to get some shots there soon but it's still a slab AFAIK.

Wonder how the grade separation is going there too.

Wow those pedestrian bridges are huge, I haven't been along the Maroondah Hwy in Ringwood for a few months so I've sadly missed this construction. I love the bypasses now though, was getting sick of driving through central Ringwood.

It's good to see governments are starting to constructed more pedestrian and bike paths and good quality ones at that, hopefully more are on the way.

Tell me about it - the bridge for Burwood Hwy was sitting in the paddocks on the highway's south side for months.

So, has anyone taken a drive on the "upgraded" M1 yet? How confusing are the ramps?

5 more pics of this excavation if anyone is interested

http://www.srra.com.au/gallery/gallery

looks like it'll all be very efficient in January with maybe 20% of hte excavation that was required in January for Middlebrough Road.

Couldn't remember whom asked about this abovementioned project, and in which thread. Until now that is. Unfortunately, didn't have much time when i took this the other day, plus it's phone quality, but things have progressed since i last went past and there was only a slab.

p.s - my humble opinion, but don't like either of the bridges.
