I like this building because it shows that we can achieve a balance of glass and terracotta. Which Kenyan architects should try to emulate. And our materials sector start creating similar high quality furnishes and glass.

Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building

Its unreal how this building is almost the same as the Royal Park in Luanda. And its just an administration Block for high end Condominium.

Those Luanda housing projects #21 are great and we should emulate that. World bank report says we need 2,000,000 housing built to eradicate slums. It also suggest that the government can achieve this through PPP. I think after roads, rails, dams, energy and irrigation, this is what the government should focus on. There are already proposals and should kick off soon but they will pale in magnitude to what Angola has done, thanks to their oil revenue resources and policy of swapping oil for infrastructure with China.

The biggest hindrance in Kenya is cost of land and our culture of buying land as investment with aim of waiting to resell as a profit (land value speculation). Also every time infrastructure is built or proposed to be built, value shoots up drastically. For example land in Isiolo shot up because of proposed lappset resort cities and route. Now the speculators are staring at losses after a new route has been proposed. Another example is Konza.

I think it's time a policy that curtails the free market speculation of land values and put emphasis on value on property based on structures and amenities built on a land. If land is cheaper then Kenyans can find it more affordable to do amazing things on the land.

Well its not lack of funds. I can count many useless things the government is doing for the benefit of a few that could have already built the 5 stadiums by now.
