Personally I’m far more optimistic that One Centenary will happen as opposed to Beorma, Bloc or Smallbrook Queensway.

Was in town yesterday (Fri 13.09) and noticed part of the high fence on Centenary Way on the side of 1CS had been removed and replaced with a metal screen covered with the Paradise logo in preparation for streetscape integration works for 1CS.

This morning, it seems much more of the white fencing has gone on the 1CS side and also, as far as the camera can capture of the 2CS side.

Now we can all get a darn good butchers at what's going on!

Yeah there's quite a lot going on today around Chamberlain Square, loads of workers preparing the area for paving both in the square and up to the boundaries of the two new buildings. Feels like its only a few weeks away from reopening.

All makes the bridge feel very thin though, remind me are there plans to re-widen it as it will be quite a choke point at the moment when traffic through the square increases.

Yes, without the open streetscape feel fences and barricades, it does feel like we're sheep being marshalled through a course going through Centenary Way.

I guess most of the fences will come down when Chamberlain Square reopens around the 28th October.

Now that the bigger fences have come down it's become obvious that when Centenary Way does reopen properly it will feel very spacious. Does anyone know if they're going to have to repave what they've done already like they are having to do on Chamberlain Square?

I spotted this picture of Mason College at the Lapworth Museum, (which btw I visited for the first time at the weekend - what a fantastic museum but I digress) Just a melancholic glimpse of what we could have had...

However what we're getting is the next best thing, a vast improvement on the concrete thing that was there before in my opinion. One of the best, if not the best office development anywhere in the country. Great job to Glenn Howells and Eric Parry!!

They only need to finish a complete path between the three squares, not the whole phase 1 works? They've made good progress so far with the stuff alongside 1CS.

They've moved the pathway towards 2CS in the last day and are replacing the paving that's been in place for the last year or so. I think it will only a few weeks before the whole of this section and that infront of the BMAG is complete.

Looks like they've now begun working to re-align the curved Spanish steps in front of the Joseph Chamberlain fountain.

As a footnote, has anyone noticed two small dykes running parallel have been constructed on the site of One Centenary Way?

Looking at the webcam on the paradise website, you can definitely see that things are heating up on the one centenary way site.

Pretty rapid progress has been made over the weekend installing the foam pieces to create the stairs, tarmac being pouring on the road surface running next to the tram lines too judging from the cameras
