Skyscrapers on the Isle of Dogs would be visible behind the bridge just as they now will be at Canada Water.

One of my favourite London views is looking through Tower Bridge towards the expanding Canary Wharf skyline. The bidge provides a beautiful frame for CW but the important thing is that it holds it's own in that view. If CW was right behind it then perhaps it may get overshadowed but CW is at a respectful distance. I think they compliment each other.

Unanimously approved by Southwark Council.

Its been approved. Nice, now its going to take at least 15 years to build it. I'm not exaggerating - it literally says this on their website
