The Charlotte ballpark view is gorgeous!

And as a native El Pasoan, I'm so thrilled that the city finally has a quality ballpark that it can be proud of. Cohen Stadium was a fine AA park in the '90s, but if used today, it would be dated even for Single-A standards.

The Future of New Jersey's Riverfront Stadium

If the Newark Bears are to return, they might need to find a new home...

Even Low-A level have some gems. I have my mother's side that live in the Fort Wayne, IN area, and I used to live there between kindergarten through 2nd grade. Their minor league team, the Fort Wayne TinCaps (no joke on the nickname) built a recent ballpark called Parkview Field. Here's a look of some of the pictures:

I swear, I'm not spamming this thread. Over at Ballpark Digest, they have an article that says that Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ and Boston College have unveiled new ballpark ideas. The ideas can be found here.

There's word that the Texas Rangers & Houston Astros want to move their A-Advance affiliates in the California League east into the Carolinas to join the Carolina League. The only problem is the two teams up for relocation in the California League are Bakersfield Blaze & High Desert (located in Adelanto, California), but the Houston Astros currently has the Lancaster JetHawks as an affiliate, while the Mariners have the Mariners have the Bakersfield Blaze as an affiliate. I bring this up because after even number years, Player Development Contracts (PDC) are usually up and teams can renew if Major League teams don't own the teams outright. I suspect some shuffling in High-A Ball. Bakersfield is in the dumps. Their ballparks is really outdated, and the diamond faces west, which is a no-no in ballpark design. I don't know much about High Desert. I feel sorry for these two cities in California.

(Mods, if I'm trolling in this thread, please tell me. ; )

Sorry for posting on this thread, but there will be a shakeup in the Class A-Advance rank of Minor League Baseball:

Minor League Baseball to extinguish Blaze today

Basically, the Bakersfield Blaze and High Desert Mavericks (located in Adelanto, CA) of the California League, will fold and 2 new teams will replace them in the Carolina League. The most probable locations of the new teams are Kinston & Fayetteville, NC. The California League will be reduced to a 8-team, 1-division league. This was Minor League Baseball's worst kept secret up until now.

Huh. The Carolina League is going to have two new stadiums built from nothing in the next 8 months?

Probably not new ballparks, just new teams. Maybe a new ballpark for Fayetteville by 2018.

I should preface the teams would move into existing ballparks in Kingston and Fayetteville, NC, temporarily. Both cities should build new ballparks in the near future.

Sorry for lying *blushes* but the two California League teams are actually folding, not moving. High Desert will be replaced with a team in Kinston, NC, will be a Rangers affiliate, and will play in Grainger Stadium. According to a MiLB.com article, it's stats-wise moving from Coors Field to Petco Park. No word on where the Bakersfield replacement will be located, although rumors are circulating that the Astros will take over, and the most likely location is Fayetteville, NC. Sorry if I'm repeating myself, trolling, and lying. *hides in fallout shelter*
