And finally the latest metro addition for China. I remember when I joined this forum in 2010 someone had posted Guiyang metro was expected for 2017, I thought it was really far in time. And here we are. However only the upper section has entered operation, from Xiamaixi to the North station, spanning 12.8 km and 10 stations for now. The lower section to Xiaomeng Gongyeyuan is expected sometime in 2018. With Guizhou getting a metro, there are eight subdivisions (four provinces and four "autonomous" regions) without one remaining. I'm sure one of them (Tibet) won't ever get one, and I have serious doubts about another two (Ningxia Huizu and Hainan).

In 2018 many metro systems opened in China, Guiyang is one of them. Very few metro systems in the world has so much soothing metro cars. The green colour scheme is beautiful in my personal view, it freshens eyes of commuters.

The Guiyang metro currently has only 1 line, i.e. Line 1. In future, another line will be opened, i.e. line 2. I heard this line is under construction. When it will be opened for public?

Line 1 is currently being extended towards west upto Donguan, and towards south upto Xiaomen Industrial Park. When both of these extensions will be opened for public?

Looking details the present line, I saw there are some very small overground section North Railway Station and Nanya Road. Why such peculiar alignment? Are there rows of hills for which once metro line is coming outside from the hill then enter again inside the hill? Please explain.

The lower section of line 1. Now the line will make sense, and its ridership will considerably boost. Line 2 should be next, and there are several other lines approved but not yet U/C.

Line 3 started construction at the end of 2018. It will run 43 km from Luowan to Tongmuling. There has been some changes to the planning, namely a stop has been added beyond Dongfeng at the Northeastern end, and the alignment at the southern end has been shifted East. However it will feature 29 stations, but I only have been able to locate 27 from the maps I know, meaning 2 more have been added, and I haven't found a station list yet.
