Bullring leisure expansion was supposed to be centred around a cinema casino and possible bowling alley, whilst grand central has added more restaurants it hasn't added the other leisure offers which many other shopping centres now offer

I'd say it'll happen when more plans for Smithfield are announced

Touchwood I'm guessing hasn't moved down to the fact they haven't got anyone to take the anchor unit and now sports direct have left it leaves a large unit to be filled before even getting an anchor tennant that will wait around for the new extension

I wonder if the Great Charles Street "bombsite" development as hit a problem, some 9 months since we were told a new planning application was due to be submitted and, nothing? I really had my hopes up for this long troubled site.
I think we all had hopes for a good sized tall here, following the developers and council leader's comments after dropping the last application.
Just wish these developer's would come clean on things and give updates, and not end up with a third party finding its "fallen through" !

PILO hotel site

Whilst taking a photo of our little mini city centre forest, it got me thinking. This site is rife for a very tall tower. Come on developers, what are you waiting for ?

As a kid in the 90s I used to love sitting in the back of the car going through all the tunnels especially the coloured one but it seems of its and time and need to be re-done now.

Thought about this last night actually. How bizarre, even read back the entire thread, thankfully that building never materialised. It was awful wasn't it

Any plans for the large glass-fronted retail unit next to Moor St station? It's been empty ever since the station was redeveloped. It would be a great location for a Sainsburys Local or similar.

That building has so much potential!! A coffee shop, cafe, exhibition space, art gallery, restaurant. In future years it would be a great space to show off all the plans for HS2 etc...

The space was meant to be a restaurant, but obviously that idea was seen as a little ambitious for the footfall.

I'm almost certain Weatherspoons were going to take it over right at the start but it fell through..if anyone could make it work it would be them!

I know we have dozens of them already, but a Costa or Starbucks wouldn't go a miss.

I emailed them back in April and they said they had a number of ongoing discussions with potential occupiers, so they were turning their attention to bespoke rather than speculative.
