Whatever Happened to :
The Armouries and Unity House.
I'm sure at the start of the year it was reported funding had been secured for this scheme, really would like to see this old building renovated and brought back to life, would also add to the growing Bromsgrove Street mix, a stone's throw from the Kent Street Baths scheme.

Pershore Street student accommodation (site next to the Forum)
Again I thought this would be underway now, again at start of the year as I recall, not only was funding secure, but a "spring" start was announced!.
Just wonder if this prominent site, (on the corner of Smithfield) and use/design as gone back to the drawing board?

Also, any progress with the Bath Row student accommodation?

I was thinking about this, having large tv screens with advertising would be brilliant and location is amazing as the footfall from new street is alot

Could be Brums Piccadilly Circus

St Anne's Court on Bradford Street has definitely gone quiet recently. It hasn't gone up beyond the first floor of steelwork!

Looking at the website of ESRG Developments, they've also got site called FiftyTwo Degrees in Smethwick which is supposed to be converting the former college buildings on Crocketts Lane in 92 flats and there's also suppose to be another 96 houses next to it. Does anyone know anything about this?

Basically though, St Annes, FiftyTwo Degrees and two sites in Dorset are the only ones they've got.

It’s not a very encouraging sign for those two other sites they have on Bradford Street.

It was put up for sale around this time last year and was tendered at the beginning of the year with the last update stating it was ‘Under Offer’ but nothing since. Hopefully it is pulled down and fully redeveloped.

Soho Loop. Does anyone know if we're likely to hear about plans for Soho Loop soon? I'm absolutely bursting to hear about it and I just can't wait any longer!!

Nothing at all in 3 years on this one. I would say check Land Reg, but no doubt it will be an anonymous shell company just sitting on it until it can be sold on again...

I’m wondering if they’re waiting for five ways house to be empty and take the whole site

Last I heard before the new owners was that the base of 5ways tower was still used by them so made things awkward going forward

I don’t know if I imagined it I’m sure someone mentioned it being demolished and a student block though!?

Something I have always wondered Alpha Tower was completed in 1973, there were a few other shorter towers like Centre City Tower (1975) built, what was going on around this time? nothing seem to have been built in the 80s then we saw some development in the early 90s but none were really that tall.

I only remember the late 90s when I remember seeing news in the Evening mail about 10 Holloway Circus which I am sure was going to be around 190m and the mixed used development on Broad Street, going to 250m with a fountain that would become a ice rink

I'm sure the Hyatt Hotel started going up in the late 1980s.

Colmore Gate may have also been late '80s or early '90s.

It seems that another company have taken on the Fifty Two Degrees site in Smethwick from ESRG Developments as they've just had some amendments approved subject to conditions. The company name is Deeble Ventures Two Ltd.

Brindleyplace was started in the early 1990's, one of the finest developments of it's kind in the World.

I think you are confusing the 80's and 90's with the 50's, 60's & early 70's when far more damage was done!
