Interesting article from Insider Media which I've already posted in another thread but the last two paragraphs talks of the possibility of two sites close to Bordesley station.

I was just looking at this for a reply in the Commonwealth Games thread. Depending on which site it is, we could be looking at a fairly big development. If it's the one that I'm assuming it is, the combined sites would be about the same area as Connaught Square by my estimation. With the tram running just outside along Adderley Street as well I'd hope that we'd get a fairly high density too.

(Of course it could also just be a little corner which they need to complete the block - who knows?)

I'm bored and reading council meeting agendas is my favourite thing.

It was indeed the self storage site. It means that Homes England now own and are presumably looking for partners to develop almost all of the land bounded by Adderley Street, the canal and Watery Lane middleway. Could be a big one if it ever gets going.

K4 designed a big mixed-use scheme for this site a few years ago, certainly dense and including some high-rise blocks. Images were on their website for a long time, but they have been deleted now.

I've noticed several people are getting duplicate posts. Don't worry about it as I shall delete one of them when I see it.

Am I right in thinking there are some old warehouses around there? and on the opposite side of the canal there is an almost complete victorian complex of old industrial buildings and CRANE nightclub?

Are any of these listed?
And will development there affect the albeit, limited nightlife?

It's not the one you're thinking of, Safestore Self Storage is on Deritend/Clyde Street.. I think the site we're on about is a storage site next to Dunelm, still Digbeth.

Yes. I want it to stand out so that people read it rather than just passing it by.

What a strange day but in a nice way depending on what side of the fence you sit on.

I wouldnt normally mention the B word on this thread but its part of why it is a strange day.

Brexit never happened and who knows what will happen.

Cranes are going up all over the city

I thought that was One East Side. Got reduced to 46fl.

I am pretty optimistic about towers in the 50fl+ range being announced in Eastside or even Digbeth in the not-too-distant future. I get the impression that there's a lot being planned that we are yet to know about.

I hope so, would nice to get a cluster or two going. I didn’t know it was this one he was talking about, he mentions some Chinese investors behind the scene. Hopefully we do see plans, this years and make our own Manhattan, I can easily see this happening in Digbeth and around hs2 too
