This link is also very useful with lots of info about the airport and pics of planes at the airport.

Summer 2011 info

Air Transat are to serve BHX with Airbus A330-200 aircraft to Toronto from MAY 2011

BMI are to base a A320 aircraft at BHX to operate LH flights to Frankfurt. (Interesting)

I recently used BHX for the brilliant AirFrance CDG-JFK and Chicago ORD-CDG routes. The airport has a much bigger feel when going through security and the old Eurohub lounge is really improved. Although AirFrance is a longer route through to NY, the planes are bigger and the refreshments even in cattle class include (depending on the purser's mood!) a couple of aperitifs, champagne, main meal drink and a liquor in your coffee afterwards. And if you hang about at the back of the plane you can carry on drinking a few liquors too! I do like the United (Continental) link to EWR as a convenience but the planes are still too small and the route a little more expensive.
