GPE have submitted plans for 100 Bishopsgate, a 40-story tower. There's a render in Estates Gazette. Can anyone post up a copy? Apparently there wil also be a huge library as part of the plan. To start in 2011.

At last - The London Forum hasn't had a big new proposal for months now.

Anybody get a look at Estates Gazette & can describe what it looks like???

40 storeys puts in around the 180m mark.

Theres a library as part of the plans as the current site has a corporation of London Library on the ground floor.

Well unless it is shapped like Mikey Mouse from the other cross section it's not part of the wacky club! It looks achingly dull, but you never know. Here's looking forward to more renders!

cant tell much from that pic so cant really comment until we see better renders.

Shame its only 165m as the site is perfect for a tower 100m taller. 165m puts it at around the same height as 20FC & 201 BG

Allies & Morrison's designs are usually more about the detailings than the overall shape. I expect this will have top notch cladding but obviously that rendering doesn't give too much away.

It could be a new Minerva, it could be a new Ropemaker Place. It should, however, have been twice the height in terms of scale - this is the perfect central location next to Bishopsgate Tower for a supertall or something on that scale.

A bit early to judge I know, but it looks very similar to the envisioned 'Landmark Tower':

I suppose if its deffinitely 165m we can at least hope for a height increase, it would be a real shame for such a perfect location on the city skyline to be taken by something so 'short' compared to the other projects we're starting to get used to.

But if there are 40 floors it should surely be a bit taller seen as tower 42 has 42 and ceiling heights have increased probably since that was built. Also the Willis building only has 28 floors but is 126m, thats around 4.5 metres per floor. So going by that the height for a tower of 40 floors should be about 180m plus space for an atrium at the base and maybe a feature on the top could push it close to 200m.

Couldn't agree more. I'd love to see a slender Office, Hotel, Residential here. I reckon us guys should put a business case forward as they are not making the most of the location.

I've enlarged it -

Looks taller than 165m if you ask me - bearing in mind Heron is 202m to roof. Where did you get that height from James?

I have no problem with 165m because it increases the probability of it being built. And it is still fairly decent height.
