I guess when it was built facing the canal was optimum side.
Oh the irony that St Chads island will now be beautiful and face a beautiful set of towers.

once it gets going how fast will the core actually rise? it's always much more exciting when you can see buildings growing, especially when its one which is as anticipated as this

This makes me think City of London rather than Birmingham, says a lot.

Birmingham is way better than Manchester and it ia about time Brum got the recognition it deserves. Although born in Portsmouth and living here all my life, my family hails from Wolverhampton. So it is good to see the REAL second city doing so well in the skyline department, and at least Beetham Brum looks sleak and sophisticated. Beetham Manc, is Mank.

It is true that Birmingham hasnt got the recognition it deserves, bt whilst the focus has been on Manchester, Birmingham has continued to develop well and SnowHill is a perfect example of this. Its Business district has really thrived and will do so even more once this is completed. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

It's interesting seeing this round of redevelopments compared with some others in this area some time ago! It's taken over 30 years for this site to see it's eventual renaissance, and I think the wait has been worth it - and hopefully a revamped Snow Hill will proudly serve this brand new part of the city in the not too distant future.

Note the Wesleyan Building on the right!

Wow great old pictures there, really shows the vast change that we are experiancing still even today! I agree the wait has been worth it and now just got to wait a little while longer for the big prjects in Snowhill to get built.

yes, the density around here is already excelent. but when we have colmore plaza finished, snow hill up and flying, and hopefully something big revealed for the post and mail site second phase, this area will be immense!

wow ! this is fast progress. My only doubt is, since the Ernt & Young building is taller than the new Snow Hill block comming next to it, wont it ugly flat brown face be showing out a lot in the skyline ?

I don't know. It could mean I was right though

Did you expect another crane Woody? It certainly looks like a crane base - you can see the base to the other crane in the pics.
