That's correct. We don't know whether they will build the towers speculatively, separately or wait until there is an hotel operator on board. My educated guess is that even if planning were granted tomorrow, they would not start until they have the operator on board as that operator's specification will be different to another's.

Do you? I think they seem really keen and will start pretty rapidly. The apartments will be a right cash cow for them.

I can certainly see that Ballymore would be keen to have the Metro running over the new viaduct and new sections immediately. They'll be wanting to show the development off to everyone, and there will be a sheer concrete wall blocking your view of the development from where the metro terminus is now.

I'd expect the termninus to be moved to just by the new steps or something once the development is complete, and then TWM can just get on with the extension as and when.

I agree about the Hotel Bio. Ferrari don't speculatively build cars without a customer's approval, so I can see why no-one would want to speculatively build a 4/5* hotel!

This is going to be fantastic for the city. One question is , how are we going to get a perspective of it? I imagine that Hockley flyover will provide an interesting angle.

Surely they can utilize the new metro viaduct ASAP and get Snow hill back to 4 platforms?

Where will the metro leave the current route? St Pauls?

I've had a look an can't see how they will do it...

That crane on blah-blah's picture was a very broken one!!

I went up there this morning and they were removing the blue boom - including two very mangled sections. One was bent almost 180 degrees back on itself and the other was a section about 15 feet long which was very mishaped! They've clearly had a problem.......

Although the viaduct is being constructed no track will be laid until cental government gives the go ahead to the project. We will not see any additions (track, cantenarias,or stations )for four years at least.

The current route will leave at St Pauls and a new elevated station (St Chads) will provide access to the new development.

Thanks for the pics! The core now seems to be rising and there is some change from the pics from the other day. I would love for this to be a speedy build.

A propos of nothing, I was waiting for the Mrs to pump the meter in the car park today and snapped this pano with my phone.

I'm confused with all these cranes now. What crane is the one in the background on the third picture?
