Four Oaks, or Four Oaks Park specificly, is like nowhere else - that giant "estate" of massive spaced out houses, built on land that was in Sutton Park once upon a time. It would be great to have photos but you'd feel a bit weird taking pictures of people's houses!

I remember seeign Four Oaks Park around four years ago- the first time I'd been round this part of Sutton and I always recall the road signs reading "Four Oaks Estate, Private Road" below the street names. There are some beautiful houses on the Walsall Road as well.

Four Oaks estate is very exclusive, where a number of very rich people and some major football players of the local teams live. It has some amazing houses in it.

I remember "illegally" driving onto the estate and somewhere in the middle there was a Fiesta that had crashed into a tree and was just abandoned there!

Well, it's just not quite what you'd expect to see on a luxury housing estate in Sutton Coldfield!

i'm a student at Sutton College too, thanks for the pics.

the only area i'm not a big fan of is the Parade.

i think it's cool to have towns and villages within a city. i tried to explain it to one girl in WHSmiths and she just couldnt get her head round it lol

Had a flipping powercut last night. So today I'll be investing in some new batteries and new torches.

lol, she was talking to her friend about whether Sutton was Birmingham or not, and i was there with my mate from college, i overheard and tried to explain.

it can be confusing though, seeing Sutton advertising itself as "The Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield" and seeing Birmingham City Council all over the place

We've got the same situation with Wellington. Its the oldest part of Telford having got its market charter in 1244 and its always been the main town in East Shropshire. Then in 68 its independence was swept away, the signs pointing to the town centre were pointed a different way and its station was renamed Telford West. They weren't happy.
The BBC always say Wellington in Shropshire but its definately Telford. There postcode is TF1 and Telfords phone code 01952 was Wellingtons originally.
The 'Welcome To' signs always amuse me, when either T&W council or Wellington town council (parish) put up an new sign the other puts one up a bit further down the road so your entering that first. As you enter Wellington form the old A5 from the west there are about 5 different signs.
Oh yeah and AFC Telford United is in Wellington and its where most of the nightlife in Telford is.

Its my favourite part of town it actually feels like a real place.

Yeah, that poor guy who hung/hanged himself for the whole world to see was from "Wellington, Shropshire". I also heard that he was from "Near Telford"!! I don't think I heard it said simply as just "Telford".

I've been to Wellington, it's the only bit of Telford I've seen!

Rest of the town not like it then?
