Yes I've been there in 1997 and I consider Istanbul one of my top 5 cities in the world ;)
But I'm sure it changed a lot since then

The pictures are great. A truly Eastern European flare. The architecture is so cool and so rich. I hope to visit Istanbul sometime too. I hear that if one were to visit Turkey, its impt to visit other cities as well since Istanbul is so unique, and it will allow to show the diversity of the country.

Seems like a great and successful initiative. I think its a good way to bridge between different cultures. And encourage interchange/cooperation.
Its interesting how Morocco is called Fas in Turkish. I imagine it must be due to the fact that Fes was the capital of Morocco during the Ottoman time.

Thank you Erci !

Even if I didin't like the models, I like the idea to rebuild the bridges that were linking our too cultures. Turkey has been for many centuries our direct neighboor and we have many things in common
between, I'd like to know more about the traditionnal turkish clothing, is there nay thread about that in the turkish section?

Nice street. Very mediterranean. Only it would have been better if it were called Moroccan street :). Or I guess since Algeria was a colony of Ottoman for many years...makes sense.

The street lookes a little on the Rue des Bouchers in Brussels, besides the fact it's flat;)

I realized that most popular cities are called after mideastern or north afriacn cities/countries.

Bagdad Avenue is the largest avenue of the asian part of Istanbul:

Algerian Street has become very famous in the last years. Fulls of cafes, bars etc..

Tunasian Avenue in Ankara. Also very very famous!

One of the most famoust ancient bazaars is the Egyptian Bazaar! Actually the most famous after the Grand Bazaar.
