But we do get fewer yellow wests than in Paris, we haven't got working poor like they do in Germany, we have still got public spaces between the buildings unlike in London, no people can't afford their medicine unlike in the US, buildings don't just collapse like they sometimes to in Turkey, we don't rely on slave Labour as they do in Qatar and our sky is still blue unlike in many places in China and India. It can certainly be frustrating that everything has to be so bloody sensible and underwhelming in this country but the wauw effect comes at a price. I'm pretty happy with Copenhagen the way it is in spite of all the disappointments. And most foreigners I have talked to have liked the city a whole lot better than Dubai and many other cities with high wauw factor. What Copenhagen as a city has going for it is its nice, coherent urban fabric with few really bad traffic arteries, great urban spaces and parks and diverse and well-preserved neighbourhoods.:
Well said Ramlersen. One of the best statements I've read in a long time.

And nobody would come to Copenhagen to watch a skyscraper anyway. IMO it's better to have some small clusters with 100+ like we're starting to have now.

9:30 Today.

The city (and Sparta) can celebrate the 40th Copenhagen Marathon
The participant record has already been set with around 13 500 runners.

Unfortunately I'm not one of them, due to a fore foot injury, but i'll definately come and cheer. (and trying to come back next year).

The race that began in 79' with a little group of enthusiastic runners, and now has developed to one of the most attractive races in the world.
If you like to read more about the story. Here

Considering that the international accolade for the Gasoline Grill's burgers and Rosario Sanchez' tacos was mentioned, I guess we owe these three åizza places one as well:

Skelbækgade 2-4 in Vesterbro

(including the slightly cringe-inducing description)

Either they are taking over a Startup coworking space from Founders A/S (which before was Podio, I believe), or the Job center is scaling back their operations.

WeWork is a bit of a plague on the startup scene internally... but it is good for marketing the city externally as a serious startup, tech, innovation player

Scandic will open a hotel at the corner of Nørre Voldgade and Frederiksborggade next year:

Mere recept köttbullar

Som om vi ikke har nok Scandic-hoteller i den her by.
Skal det hotelboom fortsætte, så lad det være med nye (bedre) spillere på banen.

Instead of just talking about the climate, here is someone who is doing something about it.

Status on the new International Centre for Interdisciplinary Solutions on AMR which will eventually generate 400-500 jobs:

Tivoli wants to turn Vesterbrogade into a public park and also add a BIG designed 70 meter tower in Tivoli with a hotel.

I would rather have the Norman Foster tower at that place.

As much as I like to decrease car traffic in the city, I don't think it's a good idea with a park on a totally closed Vesterbrogade.
The sidewalks have just been made broader, and it works very fine for me. It is one of the most urban spot we have in Copenhagen. Can't we just keep this little sense of big city?

I would absolutely love to close for car traffic on that passage. And then you just need to get HCA Boulevard underground by Rådhuspladsen, and you have a great walkable stretch in the city center.

Most of the medieval city is a "walkable stretch" - let's make the rest of the medieval city complete car free - and keep the Metropol zone as a metropol zone.

Perhaps just removing the bus lanes (I'm not sure if buses will still use this route - after Metro opens) and making the pavements even wider would be enough?

Also sounds like BIG needs to come up with some new ideas soon? That concept they have looks way too gimmicky to me. Unless you want the whole city to look like a big theme park, of course..

I think 5C will still have to go that way. They could re-route it to either skip Central Station or City Hall Square, but then it will lose connection to either trains or metro M3/M4.
