AAI is yet to fix a plot for the new airport. The plots they have looked upon have their own set of challenges, farmers, plot owner, distance from industrial belt......

So the airport project will enjoy cold storage for another decade for sure.

Expecting Fadnavis to do something will be like expecting Rahul Gandhi to change the face of Amethi.

Wow !! Someone has some real issue with fadnavis. Don't worry he ll take care of pune as well. Thankfully he isn't like ncp who cared only about pune.

Off the topic, which Municipal Corp is India's richest, BMC or PCMC?
Some national newspapers claim its BMC, but some sources say PCMC is Asia's 2nd richest after Shanghai.

Mercedes Benz to manufacture Maybach S500 at its Chakan unit in Pune

The Maybach S500 would be the company’s eighth vehicle to be manufactured in India at its manufacturing unit in Chakan, Pune.

German luxury auto manufacturer Mercedes Benz on Friday announced the local production of its “top of the pyramid” super luxury vehicle Maybach S500. Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes Benz (India), said that the local production of the vehicle will start from October. Priced at Rs 1.67 crore (ex-showroom Pune), the launch of Maybach S500 marked the unveiling of a new sub-brand of the company. Along with Maybach S500, the company also launched Maybach S600 imported from Germany, which is priced at Rs 2.60 crore.
75% of mega projects promised for Pune in 9 years take off

As per Department of Industries, mega projects involve more than Rs 500 crore and provide employment to over 1,000 people.

Over the last nine years, 75 per cent of the memorandums of understanding (MoU)s signed in Pune for setting up mega projects have resulted in actual investment and units starting commercial production. Data from the Directorate of Industries show that of the 60 MoUs which were signed, 45 units have started commercial activities, resulting in an investment of about Rs 44,725 crore in the district. Pune-based Kolte Patil buys out 100% stake in Corolla Realty for Rs 164 crore

Pune-based real estate firm Kolte Patil Developers Ltd has bought out its two joint venture partners in a Pune based real estate project.

In a notification to stock exchanges on Monday, Kolte Patil said that it now controls 100% of Corolla Realty Ltd, a special purpose vehicle (SPV), after spending Rs164 crore to buy a 63% stake held by its partners ICICI Venture Funds Management Company Ltd and an unnamed individual investor. The company earlier held a 37% stake in the project.

Corolla Realty is the holding entity of Ivy Estate, an 80 acre real estate development located at Wagholi in Pune.

FSI increase plan splits Pune's realty world

Pune civic body may offer TDR against land acquired for transport project

The real estate market may get a booster shot if the corporators today okay a proposal to allot transfer of development rights (TDR) against land acquisition for the long-pending High Capacity Mass Transit Route (HCMTR) project.

The HCMTR is a land route earmarked under the development plan of 1987 for swift movement of public transport vehicles and a rail-based corridor. The civic body is planning to develop nearly 34-km route for this project.

Chakan unit will create 350 direct jobs in Pune

What drove the company to invest in Chakan?

Pune was a natural choice to set up the facility considering the city is already an established hub for a variety of industries, including auto, electronics and electrical component among others. There are obvious benefits associated with setting up the multi-purpose facility (MPF) in an area that already has the proven infrastructure to support similar facilities. Proximity to Mumbai, the country's economic capital, is another factor which works for Pune's advantage. Besides, the city will be easily accessible from the proposed international airport coming up in Navi Mumbai.
How will the investment be rolled out?

The company plans to invest 44 million euros (Rs 300 crore) which would be carried out largely in two stages. We have earmarked an investment of 39 million euro (about Rs 266 crore) for the first phase which shall have a capacity of 6,000 units and will be completed by 2017. Once this is done, we shall scale up the production capacity to 10,000 units as part of the second phase, which will be completed by 2019/20.
