China Airlines adds Taipei – Cebu service from late-March 2020

China Airlines on Thursday (05DEC19) announced new route launch in summer 2020 season to The Philippines. Subject to Government Approval, the Skyteam member plans to operate Taipei Taoyuan – Cebu route, the host city of Routes Asia 2019, from 29MAR20. Reservation for this route, 6 weekly 737-800, to open soon.

Booming jud ang Taipei route. Hopefully they will make the visa-free entry permanent for PH passport holders.

YOu want mother china raise hell on the Philippines over one China policy? Heck, Beijing wanted to own some of the disputed Islands in South China Sea. Beijing surely wouldn't want Taiwan be recognized as a separate sovereign country... Damn greedy bast**d !!

But hongkong is not considered a renegade province by PRC (unlike Taiwan).. or at least not yet

true. my point is, if we want to have the visa-free entry permanent for PH passport holders in taiwan, we should adhere to the reciprocity principle, and have taiwanese passport be visa free here in the PH as well.

And Canada (and beyond). Although I'm always flying out of MNL, I like the idea that flights ex- CEB, DVO or CRK can get to skip transitting in Manila altogether.
