Interesting modern buildings, but gets points only due to the couple of modern highrises, needs much more infill of smaller buildings to make it look realler.....

I love it the Modis building one of the best in America in my opinion

The population is a bit fudged because it includes all of Duval County, you see the Jacksonville sign but then drive through 15 minutes of forest first.

Um.. Jacksonville does not have a huge population neither is it "the largest city in Florida". It is the largest city in Florida by land size(Jacksonville and Duval County are one and the same) making it even harder to built a succesfull downtown and skyline because of the constant struggle against suburbanism. Jacksonville only has 800,000 people.

The new Federal Courthouse building.. 15 stories..

More Jacksonville pics..

More Jax...

The facade of the CSX building in the lower left of this pic has been remodeled with sleek black glass..

This is Friendship Fountain and at times of high publicity (Spring Break, Jazz Festival, Film Festival, holidays, etc.) it goes as high as 15 stories and becomes part of Jacksonville's skyline. It also changes colors takes to a new lighting system..

Downtown Jacksonville is very fortunate to be situated on a river..

It's "o.k."...It's not really impressing me at the moment, but in a couple of years, I can see this city having an amazing skyline. I give it a 6 on the skyline for now, and a 9 for it's potential...Overall, it's a good 7.5.

A very nice modern skyline. The bridges add a lot to it, I think. A 7.

It is OK but needs more buildings. I gave it a 5. It is really kind of boring.

That skyline is about to be under major construction too. A total of 14 20+ story building are getting ready for construction with 7 of them over 30 story.

Pretty nice Skyline when you consider Jax has a metro population of only around 1,000,000.

Nice surprise. Skyline isn't big, but quite dense, and tall buildings are really nice
7/10
